Continuing deadlock in Northern Ireland

Sixteen months have now passed since Northern Ireland’s devolved government collapsed. Its restoration is not in prospect.

The local parties remain far apart. Alistair Lexden , who always takes a close interest in the Province’s affairs, drew the attention of the Lords to the continuing complete deadlock  through an oral question which he asked on 23 May.
